CPQ #102

What do you think is the best conversation piece in your home?

Since we're still a young freshly-married couple, we don't have a lot of fancy possessions.  We just have the basics!  But I'd say the things we get comments about the most are our wedding pictures that are hung in the living room and dining room.  Even if the person has been to our house before and seen them, they still make comments everytime they visit.  It can be kind of flattering but at the same time, it makes me uncomfortable.  Am I the only one who thinks plastering your own face all over your walls is a little conceited?  Maybe I'm just weird...nope, I definitely am weird.  No question.

What would your dream house look like?  Be as descriptive as possible.

I want a newer house but not necessarily a cookie-cutter model.  I only want 5 or 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.  Any bigger than that is a nightmare to clean (who am I kidding, cleaning any house can be a nightmare!)  I prefer for it to only be that size because any bigger, it's like you're inviting people to come see your museum.  It's a home where family should feel comfortable, not uptight like a museum.  I'd want a big kitchen with fancy stainless steel appliances.  There would be an office/den/"man cave" downstairs where Jesse can hang all his trophy bucks.  I don't want them spread throughout the whole house; we'll keep it to one room :)  The house would be on a cul-de-sac or on a less populated road.  I want some neighbors but not too many.  I'm leaving out lots of other details because this could take days to list out what I dream of in a house!

If you were writing an autobiography, what would be the book's title (besides your name)?

Um...it would be "A Life of Service" or something to that affect.  I don't do it as much as I should but I like serving people and being someone they can count on.  Hopefully by the time I've lived enough life to even write an autobiography, I'll live up to that!

If you could see the front page of a national newspaper dated January 1, 2100, what do you imagine that the main headline might say?

I'm usually not one who is paranoid or superstitious but I think the world will have ended by then.  I'll rephrase that:  the Second Coming will have happened by then and I'm sure we won't have newspapers anymore.

CPQ #98

If your name were given as the decription for any one word in the dictionary, behind what word would people find your name?  (Example:  HILARIOUS:  John Smith).

AWESOME:  Ashlyn Mellor :)

In your opinion, what is the best piece of music ever written?

Here we are again assuming that I'm in touch with the finer things in art and culture.  Ha!  I'd have to say Beethoven's Fur Elise.  I taught myself how to play the first part of that song...no piano lessons or anything.  Just learned it by ear :)

CPQ #96

If you could walk into any painting and actually experience the moment or scene that it depicts, which painting would you choose to enter?

I'm not really cultured when it comes to paintings and art.  I wish I was but it probably won't happen.  The only famous painting that comes to mind (besides Mona Lisa) is called Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.  I remember in two of my elementary classes, they used this painting as a reference so we could learn how to draw things in the distance.  I obviously cannot remember the right term for that but it's a pretty well known piece of art.  It's the one with all the people milling around the park and just enjoying themselves.

CPQ #95

In your opinion, what is the most beautiful man-made object in the world?

I'd have to say...temples.  And if I had to choose just one, it would be the Saint George Temple.
